Master of Awesomeness Devlog week 1

Throughout the 1st week of making my game, I have nailed down the player movement and the jumping aspect of the game. I have also created some sprites that will be traps and some just to make the background more interesting. I also have some tilemaps in progress for the ground and walls. 

My Goal before next week is to have most of my tilemaps completed for the ground and walls. My character design finished and try to animate the walking and the jumping animations. I will also be creating more traps and making sure that my character gets killed by them. If I can get all these goals done I will try and make the first section of the game so it’s up for testing!

Trap Notes: 

Traps will instantly kill you and send you to the previous checkpoint.

Some traps will be harder to spot than others.

There will be three types of traps, stationary so spikes, moving traps that move up and down or right and left, the last trap is a shooting style trap. 

Artwork 

The first trap I created is the humble spike which will be placed nearly everywhere in my game to make the travelling more challenging. 

The second trap is the spike ball trap, I’m planning for this trap to either move up and down or left and right. These will be used more in the heavy jumping parts of the game. 

This is the storm cloud trap which will be stationary it has two purposes. The first purpose is if a player touches the storm cloud they die, the second purpose is if a player stands underneath a storm cloud a lightning bolt will shoot out and the player will die.

This is the Lightning bolt that will be shot out of the stormy cloud. Still determining how fast I want it to come out.

This is just a normal cloud. Its purpose will be just to fill out the background and make it look nice.
